Runway to Rooms: Met Gala Looks Reimagined as Interiors

by Laura Kreher | Assoc. IIDA, LEED GREEN | Art Associate, Designer

Fashion design and interior design are two art forms cut from the same cloth. The core principles of design are prevalent in each design type. Their influence on each other flows in a constant cycle, where a cuff link finds its counterpart in a nail head trim, and a silk scarf mirrors a sheer drape. With such overlap, it’s only fitting to imagine a red-carpet look translated into a beautifully styled space.

Aside from New York Fashion Week, the US Award Season is a peak for fashion in America. The Met Gala is the crème de la crème of these events. This past Monday, we got to view the 2025 vision for this annual event; “Tailored for You,” which corresponds to the Met’s new exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” This theme highlights the exhibit’s showcasing of the Black dandy fashion movement; a revolution honoring well-tailored menswear looks rooted in identity and resistance. This year’s attendees honored the theme with style, suiting up in looks that speak to history and design. Without further ado, here are some standout 2025 Met Gala ensembles—reimagined as interiors.
