Healthcare reform is all the buzz these days and doesn't seem like it will be taking a backseat any time soon with the continued rollout of the 2010 Affordable Care Act. The Department of Health and Human Services will begin offering incentives to hospitals to improve quality of care as part of the new hospital Value-Based Purchase (VBP) program. Under the new value-based purchasing program, an estimated $850 million will be allocated to hospitals in 2013 for their performance on a set of quality measures that improve patient care and satisfaction.

Spellman Brady & Company, a national leader in artwork planning and consulting for healthcare environments, is seeking to review portfolios from sculptors with interest in a project in St. Louis, MO. The work requested is part of a memorial garden celebrating the life of Sister Catherine McAuley and her mission of helping the sick and poor through a traditional story telling medium of a bronze bas relief.

Spellman Brady & Company completed the furniture package for Federal Hall, Columbia College’s newest student educational center in Columbia, Missouri. Spellman Brady was responsible for the furniture selection, procurement and installation management for the 30,000 square feet of renovated space.

Spellman Brady & Company recently completed a major project for Webster University’s East Academic Building – the first new classroom building on the university’s St. Louis campus since 1984. Spellman Brady & Company was responsible for the Interior Design and Furniture Specification and Procurement for the $29 million, 94,323-square-foot building that houses the George Herbert Walker School of Business & Technology, as well as other university programs and services.

Spellman Brady & Company completed Artwork Master Planning services for Springfield Regional Medical Center (SRMC), a new 254-bed hospital in Springfield, Ohio. Spellman Brady’s scope of services included the design, procurement and installation of artwork for the project’s main lobby, atrium, elevator lobbies, patient room corridors, women’s health pavilion and the donor and heritage walls.
