Spellman Brady & Company provided artwork planning services for the Mercy Joplin Hospital. This was a New Construction Replacement Hospital built to replace the hospital that was destroyed by the Joplin, MO tornado. The Artwork Masterplan was based on local/regional landscapes and macro nature images that relates to Joplin and the campus. The artwork conveys a feeling of hope and light, in line with Mercy’s vision for the project. The overall effect is a cohesive environment, energized by the artwork. Public spaces were filled with both Mercy’s heritage and native photography, Consult areas housed water images for reflection, and Patient Rooms offered macro images for positive distractions. Visitors are inspired to appreciate all the details of the interiors, the architecture, the heritage of Joplin and more.
